Career Progression

• Lakshmisree Chakraborty (MSc. ACS, LLB) took her Management Training from Phillips Carbon Black and Tractor India Limited in Kolkata.
• She joined Mehta & Mehta Company Secretaries, a leading CS firm in Mumbai in 2003 and completed a stint of seven years as an Associate Partner
• Lakshmisree led a team of semi-qualified company secretaries in providing services to different groups of companies across various sectors.
• In 2010, she joined Sahara India as Deputy General Manager and was responsible for company law compliances for subsidiaries set up by the Indian companies of the Sahara India Group in various overseas jurisdictions and FEMA compliances for Overseas Direct Investments primarily.
• In 2015, she joined YOU Broadband India Limited (YOU) as Legal Head and Company Secretary overseeing the Company Law and FEMA compliances and all legal work for YOU, its wholly-owned subsidiary and six other group companies. YOU was a wholly-owned subsidiary of a Mauritius entity and holds a PAN India ISP License.
• She was responsible for DOT and TRAI compliance and all legal drafting (business agreements, channel partner agreements, notices, correspondences with the Municipal authorities, Cyber Crime Authorities, Policies, Consumer Court cases, etc.).
• She also established the Internal Complaints Committee under POSH and Chaired the same, holding regular workshops and counselling exercises.
• She was instrumental in the acquisition of YOU by Vodafone India Limited in 2017.
• After the merger of Vodafone India with Idea Cellular, she was inducted into the Corporate Secretarial Team of Vodafone Idea Limited as AGM Subsidiaries and Corporate Laws.
• She was responsible for the company law compliances for the subsidiaries of Vodafone Idea Limited.
